America en Cueros Leda Valladares
1992
Renowned Argentinian music collector, Leda Valladares created this CD of traditional Andean frame drum songs and Afro-Latin-American songs. Leda invited me to participate in the collective singing you hear throughout the CD, and to sing solo on the last song: a Shango ritual from Trinidad, collected and recorded by Emory Cook. Shango means "fire" and "lightning", and is one of the Orixas (deities) of the Yoruban spiritual / religious system from West Africa practiced in Trinidad and Brazil.

FEBRUARY IS AMERICAN HEART MONTH

February 14, 2013
THE HEARTBEAT OF LOVE
                                                 THE HEARTBEAT OF HEALTH

Suzanne Tribe HealthRHYTHMS Endorsed Facilitator

February is American Heart Month and I was one of the facilitators at the Heart Health Fair organized by a leading hospital in New York. Awareness of heart health was promoted by lectures, blood pressure screenings, healthy eating tips and I led an experiential "heartbeat of health" group drumming activity.
I want to thank the organizers for a great initiative and all the wonderful participants for sharing the rhythm! And we chanted: "THE HEARTBEAT OF LOVE is THE HEARTBEAT OF HEALTH"
